The BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico has quickly become an established stop in the festival circuit, from the underground DJ to the more established to the headliner, 2015 will see BPM expand into it’s 8th year, arranging more than 75 events all along the beautiful beaches. A double celebration of the year that was for performers and attendees and the year that will be, from January the 9th to the 18th 2015 the festival combines it’s exotic location with a stellar line-up, focusing a more laissez faire approach to underground Techno and House music, as testament to its 10 day – all day and night duration. The big names will be there, the best parties, and so will Dry Magazine.

Innervisions – January 15 / Blue Venado Beach Club

Innervisions could be seen as somewhat as a paradox as 2014 as they never looked outward more, had an influence and touched more people, in short, 2014 could not have been greater. Releasing monumental work such as ‘Iffy’ by Recondite, and with no 1 and 3 (sandwiched between Tale of Us) on the Resident Advisor Poll for DJ of the year 2014, Dixon and Âme line up alongside Mano Le Tough, Henrik Schwarz (live) for some Jazz and Ambient and Marcus Worgull. The Âme remix of Sailor and I – Turn Around was voted the BPM song of 2014, what will be the 2015 song remains to be seen…

Tuskegee – January 16 / Blue Parrot Beach Club

Take a beach party in Mexico in January, the weather, the girls, the tequila…the perfect soundtrack? House music all night long featuring The Martinez Brothers b2b with Seth Troxler. World domination continues for the Bronx Brothers and the Detroit Alien Seth Troxler. The Martinez Brothers, arguably one of the highlights of Sonar 2014 with their flawless sets of underground house and techno, bring to Mexico balearic blissfulness having become an unmissable force in Ibiza this summer. They are the new leaders in House music, with influential magazine Mixmag having voted them the DJ’s of 2014. The Martinez Brothers alongside the in demand, and ever evolving Detroit musical maestro man-mountain Seth Troxler is sure to be every House music aficionado’s highlight.

Apollonia – January 14 Noon / Canibal Royal

French trio Apollonia, so influential over the past ten years in Parisian House and Techno, are well known in the BPM festival surroundings, and 2015 will be no different. Taking in a day party , these vinyl aficionados will bring the flair and savoir faire as a perfect start to the day, with their sets known to extend long into the night, or dusk in this case, mixing deep house and blissful grooves, this showcase will be the creme de la creme of daytime adventures. Keep your ears open and expect to hear among other sounds, ‘Kerri Chander – Sunday Sunlight’ released on Apollonia Music, one of the biggest tracks this year. Keep your eyes peeled also for the rumours of an Apollonia set deep in the Mexican Jungle a few days later…..

Young Art Presents – January 10 / La Santanera

For something a little different in Mexico, a little more playful and removed from the House music persuasion. Young Art presents a stellar line-up with Tokimonsta, Nosaj Thing, Two Fresh and Nick Hook. Tokimonsta, part of the Flying Lotus Brainfeeder output, will bring her hip hop infused, eastern influenced chilled out arrangements to the setting, with an impressive catalogue and a swathe of remixes, the LA native could provide a welcome relaxing alternative. Alongside her, bringing more instrumental beats and percussion to proceedings is Nosaj Thing, and Nick Hook, recent producer of monumental collaboration, ‘The Rap Monument’ featuring 36 rappers slaying beats over 40 minutes!
