Dunkerque is an unnoted industrial harbour city in the most northeastern point of France, squeezed between the more famous Calais and the touristic Belgian coast. Inspired by William Eggleston (cfr. Spirit of Dunkerque, 2008) I discovered Dunkerque as a very gripping and intruiging place to wander in. For over a year, in order to capture all seasons and cover the entire area, I paid several visits to the vast coastline, the raw industries, wastelands and suburbs of Dunkerque.
