A fond lover of Americana, Laura-Lynn Petrick has gone on several excursions in various vehicles exploring the vastness and notions of American Land. This is Petrick’s interpretation of the American landscape, a voluptuous terrain of desert, bedrock, oceans, variety, nostalgia and highways. The photographs span across the country. Picturing the edge of the west coast of California, the Southernest point of Texas, the flats of mid-west U.S.A, Idaho sunsets, Deep forestry of Northern Minnesota, and the breezy east coast of Far Rockaway Beach, New York. Petrick rode many many American state highways throughout this photo series, getting a feel for the American way. Taken on a Yashica-Mat Medium Format camera, from 1957.
