I picked up Vitturi’s latest photo book just prior to it’s general release in September 2013 at Unseen in Amsterdam and you could tell it was going to knock the photography world for six.  Inspired and shot really close to my first studio in Dalston, mostly around Ridley Road Market, it holds a very special place in my heart. Since publication he has exhibited the work at the legendary FOAM and has been featured in the TIME best photo books of 2013 and, shortlisted for the Paris Photo/Aperture Foundation First Book Award. The book adds to the ground swell of Still Life photography that could be having its greatest resurgence since Caravaggio decided he’d have his 5-a-day and painted a basket of fruit.
