This season at Saint Laurent it was all about the show. Hedi Slimane and his team created an architectural masterpiece of mirrored columns which were rising and going down again – showcasing a consistently changing silhouette of the models through the mirrors. The girls showed a laid back attitude while walking down the runway to Cherry Glazerr’s grungy song “Had Ten Dollaz”.

What else is there to say? It was a solid collection that had Hedi Slimane x YSL written all over it. All his signature pieces were present – it’s a perfect sellout collection. Every piece is perfectly wearable – a commercial collection. For me as someone who is interested in fashion as a form of art it wasn’t too interesting.

The beautiful thing about Hedi’s designs is that as average and normal as this collection may seem on the first look, every piece has been carefully thought through and a signature style – a signature vibe – is perfectly maintained within every season’s offerings.Everything is inherently consistent. He remains an unbroken balance in his designs.
